Amplify Local Action Kickoff

As a Realtor and community member that loves Northampton and is dedicated to its future, I am making it a personal mission to Amplify Local Action in 2022. Throughout the year I will hold up the mic for a local change-making organization and ask YOU, my neighbors, to learn alongside me.

Amplify Local Action is a part of my annual Commitment to Community wherein I aim to promote awareness of local housing issues and the organizations that are leading the way in serving the affected populations and acting on these issues. What does that look like?

  • A monthly call to the community to learn about and/or contribute to a local nonprofit/organization that is working to:
    • combat homelessness or benefit the local houseless population
    • break down barriers to homeownership for LQBTQ+ BIPOC, or that is
    • educating folks on how to get from A to Z when access to that information may otherwise not be readily available.

At its core, Amplify Local Action is an attempt to take funds earned through my work as a local Realtor and funnel them back into our community with an eye towards prioritizing organizations committed to raising awareness of - and providing support to those impacted by - housing issues.

With this, I am excited to announce the first featured cause of this new initiative....

Cathedral in the Night!

From their website:

“Cathedral in the Night is an outdoor Christian community in downtown Northampton, MA which seeks to create a safe place for all people: the homeless, the housed, the church-less, the churched, the student and the resident to explore, question and live out their spiritual beliefs; to gather for a meal and to empower one another to engage in issues of social justice by working to fight the causes of inequality and homelessness.”

To read more about Cathedral and their work, head to their website at cathedralinthenight.org

…or visit them on the front steps of First Churches in Downtown Northampton Sunday evenings at 5 PM

To read more about how Cathedral's mission connects to Amplify Local Action, head to this post for some details on how I will be personally contributing and ways you can contribute as well!
